This Theory and clinical applications of gynaecological ultrasound course is for radiographers, midwives and nurses for health care professionals who are involved in the performance and reporting of female pelvic ultrasound examinations.
The Theory and clinical applications of gynaecological ultrasound course can be taken as a ‘stand alone’ for qualified sonographers or used towards a postgraduate qualification.
You should be a qualified health care professional currently working in an appropriate area of practice.

The aim of the Theory and clinical applications of gynaecological ultrasound course is to give you in depth of knowledge and critical understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology of the female pelvis.
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of techniques applicable to the medical ultrasound investigation of the female pelvis.
Furthermore, students are encouraged to increase their critical awareness in synthesizing information and evaluative skills for the competent performance of ultrasound examinations of the female pelvis.
This Theory and clinical applications of gynaecological ultrasound course clarifies students#39; technical expertise in vascular being able to perform examinations competently with precision and effectiveness and be able to adapt these skills as required in complex situations.
Assessment
The assessment consists of a case study presentation, an OSCE and a summative clinical assessment comprising of three patients, including both transabdominal and transvaginal approaches.
The summative clinical assessment is carried out in your own department and marked by university staff and your clinical supervisors.
