This is a practical course underpinned by anatomy, physiology and communications for beauty therapy in the media industry. You will have the opportunity to develop your practical beauty skills in make-up application, eyelash and brow treatments, themed images, the art of photographic make-up, apply skin tanning techniques, the art of colouring, dressing and styling hair.

Course programme

Entry Requirements

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above which include English and maths or a suitable qualification at Level 1 in Beauty or Salon Services.

Delivery and Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the length of the course taking the form of research tasks, reports, presentations and assignments.

Progression

After completing the Hair & Media Make-up qualification at Level 2 you may wish to progress onto a Level 3 course. The industry offers different routes of employment - you could work in a local salon, for media and TV companies or you may choose to work for yourself as a make-up stylist or bridal specialist.
