This programme of study will interest students who would like to work within the creative make-up industry, such as fashion, photographic studios, theatre or preparation for higher education.
It is designed to enhance learners' skills and knowledge to that of a professional The programme will give you a comprehensive coverage of various make-up techniques, airbrushing, special effects, basic prosthetics, hair and wigs.
We have excellent links with industry and you will get the opportunity to participate in many exciting challenges such as working in a real TV studio, working on theatre productions, creating fashion shoots and much more.

Examples of Units you may study on this programme: Client Care & Communication Health & Safety Fashion photographic make-up Media Make-up Style & Fit Postiche (Wigs) Creative and Fantasy hair design Camouflage Make Up Apply prosthetic pieces & bald caps Apply air brush make-up to the face Design & apply face and boy art You will develop a wide array of skills including: Media make-up skills to a professional standard Dressing of hair and wigs with confidence and flair Communication skills Confidence skills Minimum standards, expectations and understanding within industry Work experience and enterprise skills Competition opportunities E-learning is a key part of this course 4 GCSE's at Grades A to C, including Maths and English OR Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing, Hair and Media, Beauty Therapy or equivalent with the appropriate level of English and maths. Art / Design or Drama is desirable and hairdressing work experience would be an advantage. You should have good communication skills, practical skills and have a level of artistic flair. Selection is by a final one-to-one interview. You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform which has been expertly chosen to provide you with professional working products. This is available as a Full Time course at the Printworks Campus. If you are over 19 you can take it as a Park Time Fast Track course at Printworks. This is a professional level qualification which is recognised internationally within the industry, allowing successful candidates to progress onto employment to become a hair and make-up artist or assistant.
