Year 1

The Hairdressing advanced apprenticeship program will require you to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in a professional environment and achieve a series of standards to prove your competence and skill: The hairdressing apprenticeship includes four mandatory units; creatively style and dress hair, creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques, creatively colour and lighten hair and provide client consultation.
There are also several optional units to choose from including; hair colour correction services, provide creative hair extension services, contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business, create a variety of permed effects, fulfil salon duties, cut men’s hair using basic techniques, provide a variety of relaxing services, develop, enhance and evaluate your creative hairdressing skills, provide specialist hair and scalp treatments, contribute to the implementation of promotional activities. You will also need to complete an Employee Right and Responsibility qualification whilst on the apprenticeship.

Additional information

On-programme On-programme is the learning phase for apprentices to pick up the skills, knowledge and behaviours set in each standard. Apprentices need to complete 20% off-the-job training during the on-programme phase of their apprenticeship. You can track and monitor the 20% through our e-portfolio. On program assessment includes: – Regular assessment (involving employer and training provider). – Development of a portfolio demonstrating learning and development activities with their application in the workplace. – Completion of level 3 NVQ Diploma for Hairdressing. – You will also need to complete an Employee Right and Responsibility qualification whilst on the apprenticeship.
