Entry Requirements Anyone aged 16 with an interest in hairdressing and a suitable Jobskills Training Credit or New Deal referral
Length of Training Minimum 52 Weeks to NVQ Level 1 60 Weeks to NVQ Level 2 100 Weeks to NVQ Level 3
Type of Training 4 days per week in a salon. 1 day per week in the training centre.
Qualification Gained NVQ Level 1 - Hairdressing Consultation and Diagnosis NVQ Level 2 - Hairdressing Cutting NVQ Level 3 - Hairdressing
Training Content Level 1 is designed as an Introductory Course for Young People.
Level 2 is designed for people who work as junior stylists.
Level 3 is intended for people who work as salon supervisors.
Examples of units include : Blow-drying Colour and Bleaching Conditioning Consultation and Diagnosis Cutting Neutralising Perming Undertake salon reception duties Shampooing
