About this course

Four GSCEs at grade E or above including Maths, English and preferably Science. Good personal presentation skills and commitment to learning. At interview you will also be expected to complete a practical test and pre-entry test to determine your literacy and numeracy levels.

The Programme
This Level 2 course will teach you the basic skills of hairdressing enabling you to work as a Junior Stylist styling, cutting, colouring and perming hair.
The Programme Content
You will study a minimum of nine units leading to the VRQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. Additionally you will study basic salon skills during induction period to ensure this is the industry for you. Key Skills will also be studied alongside hairdressing, strengthening your employability. Assessment is by commercially competent practice on a range of clients with written and oral tests and assignments.
Progression / Careers
You may enter employment as a Junior Stylist with basic knowledge to gain more confidence and experience within this industry or you may remain in full time education and study Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing to gain further skills and experience and/or a range of beauty subjects.
