About this course

Course Content
This qualification is aimed at stylists and senior stylists. It covers a variety of more advanced hairdressing skills and builds candidates confidence, experience and develops creativity whilst enabling candidates to work independently.
Course Features
The course is full time consisting of two days and one evening in college and the remainder of week in work
Assists in developing hairdressing standards.
Extra curriculum activities include organising and participating in fashion shows, competitions and industrial events.
Covers a variety of more advanced hairdressing techniques and skills.
Deals with overcoming a wider range of client demands and the ever changing requirements of the modern salon.
A realistic working salon builds candidates confidence, experience and develops creativity whilst enabling candidates to work independently.
A hairdressing kit and uniform are a compulsory requirement for the course, candidates progressing from level 2 need to ensure all kit is updated.
Additional business unit integrated within the programme.
Career Prospects and Progression
This qualification enables the successful candidate to expand their knowledge in the hairdressing industry. Progressional route to NVQ Level 4 in salon management, and skills required to open own salon.

Method of Assessment
Continual practical observation on real paying clients throughout the programme. Written tests for each unit and 7 assignments to ensure essential knowledge and understanding.

Up to a year. Please note that students will be expected to attend college one late evening per week on a regular basis as part of their training.
