The Health and Social Care Level 2 QCF strives to equip learners with a greater knowledge of a range of aspects related to the health and social care industry. Students can expect to learn more about the role of the health and social care worker, the key principles of safeguarding and protecting in health and social care, the causes and spread of infection, the duty of care in health and social care settings, and much more!

Please Note: a work placement of at least 50 hours is required to complete this option.
As part of this work placement you must first ensure that a member of staff with occupational competence is able to provide supervision and sign the witness testimonies, to prove you have achieved the work based learning outcomes of this course.

Unit 1: The role of the health & social care worker

Course Assessments

This course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor following the guidelines.

When you have completed the programme, your tutor needs to verify that you have worked through all parts of any Workbooks, Activities and Exercises successfully. You will also need to complete a short multiple choice examination.
