Programme Description:
This is a one year full time level 2 programme seeks to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in health and social care. This qualification will give learners a broad understanding and knowledge of skills in the health and social care sector. Alongside the programme, learners will also study the Welsh Baccalaureate and six essential skills. Learners will have the opportunity to carry out work experience in health and social care establishments.

About this course

Progression and Employment:
Upon successful completion learners should be equipped with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to enter employment within a care setting or apply for a level 3 programme. To proceed to a Level three health and social care programme learners will need to demonstrate high levels of achievement in both placement and coursework activities. A distinction grade is required to progress.

Additional information

Method of Assessment Assessment is carried out through a variety of coursework including assignments, presentations, external assessment and the development of practical skills. Learners must complete two core units, two additional units and a choice of optional units. Two units will be externally assessed.
