2. Course description BTEC Extended Certification In Health and Social Care course has been designed to inspire and enthuse learners who are considering a career in the health and social care sector, or in a related sector where knowledge of health and social care will be of use, such as early years.This course will give learners the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of knowledge and skills in the health and social care sector e.g. the underpinning care values and an understanding of the different life stages that individuals go through.  It will offer support and progression to a more specialised Level 3 vocational or academic health and social care course, an apprenticeship or more broadly, progression to qualifications in other sectors, such as Early Years and give learners the potential opportunity to enter employment within a range of junior job roles across the health and social care sector.

3. Entry requirements Minimum entry requirement is 5 GCSE's at grade D or above. 4. Equipment required Students will be required to purchase a Tunic for approximately £25.There will also be various trips and visits available throughout the year which can be paid for via the College Online shop. 5. Assessment method Candidates will complete two external examinations. All other units will be internally assessed through assignment work, presentations, written work, projects, posters and leaflets.
