Equipment required All students undertaking work experience have to apply for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance. At present the cost for this is £44. You will also be required to wear a college t-shirt when on placement which costs approximately £10. Assessment method You will be required to match the hours of teaching in college with private study. Although some private study time will be included during the timetabled week, including an assignment support workshop, you will need to undertake study at home to enable you to complete the set assignments. The BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 qualification is made up of 17 units of study. Assessment is by unit of study and all units will have assignment work set and marked by the teaching team. The internally set assessments will be varied in format and in some instances you may be asked to contribute to the design of an assessment. Such variety allows every student to show their particular talents whilst developing and extending other skills. You will be provided with deadlines for the specific assignment tasks.
