ANAPHYLAXIS

Anaphylaxis is a potentially severe allergic reaction which attacks the immune system. Your whole body is affected, usually within minutes of contact with an allergen but sometimes the reaction can take place hours later. In serious cases can also lead to death.

AUTISM AWARENESS

This care training course is aimed at care workers who are involved with clients who have Autism. Candidates will gain a better understanding of what Autism is and the effect it has on an individual.

Learning Outcomes: This course will cover the following topics; Introduction to autism in children, Child development Characteristics of autism, Social interaction, Social communication, Sensory difficulties

DEMENTIA AN UNDERSTANDING

This is a course about dementia looking at a broad range of topics. Dementia is a term used to describe various different brain disorders that have in common a loss of brain function that is usually progressive and eventually severe.

DIABETES AWARENESS

This course has been designed to develop and support healthcare professionals who want to learn more about diabetes, and who may provide care for people with diabetes.

DISABILITY AWARENESS

This training is great for employees and businesses, to ensure that services, policies and procedures comply with equality legislation and to open up their services to a wider range of users. Participants will leave with a general awareness of how to make services accessible and interact positively with disabled people.

EPILEPSY AWARENESS

This course is aimed at care workers who are involved with clients who suffer from epilepsy. Candidates will gain knowledge on the main effects of epilepsy and the importance of supporting services users to take medication as directed by their doctor. This course will also explore the different types of seizures and behaviour changes an individual may suffer from as a result of epilepsy.

LEARNING DISABILITIES

This module is intended to provide basic awareness of learning difficulties and some of the issues they can present. After completing this module you\x92ll understand what a learning difficulty is and how it can affect people. You\x92ll see how diagnosis of a learning difficulty is made and there is a glossary of some of the more common conditions.

NUTRITION AWARENESS

Our online course will provide you with an understanding of Nutrition. It explains the basic concepts of nutrition and highlights the ways people can integrate good nutrition into their lifestyles. The module also depicts how nutritional caring is a vital component of care.

SELF HARM

Self-harm is an extremely complex issue, both for those who self-harm and the professionals who support them. This module will raise your awareness of self-harm, help you to develop an understanding of the issues faced by self-harmers, and what you can do to help them. This excellent, original module firstly defines what self-harm is and how people typically do it. The module presents some of the facts on self-harm as well as dispelling some of the myths, covering the reasons behind the practice and the support you can offer. There are also lots of references to further reading on this topic.

STROKE AWARENESS

The stroke awareness training course is aimed at anyone currently working or seeking to work within the health care sector. Candidates will benefit from having knowledge of symptoms, treatments and side effects.

ALLERGEN AWARENESS

Learning Outcomes: This module will show you how to provide allergy information on pre-packed or unpackaged foods. It will cover what effects allergies may have to the body, considerations of allergies in the factory, how allergenic ingredients should be displayed on a label, identifying allergens in example of dishes in the restaurant and how food businesses should be providing consumers with allergen information about the non-prepacked food they serve.
