This one year full-time course is an introduction to working in the health and social care sector. It is a well-established course covering topics related to health and social care, and is ideal for those who wish to work in with children, adults and the elderly. It aims to develop the skills required for a wide range of health and care-related careers and offers a route to level 3 in further education. We are one of the few colleges in Cornwall who offer a level 2 programme in health and social care which is valued at the equivalent of 4 GCSE's at C or above.

Course programme
You must be at least 16 years of age with a minimum of 4 GCSE passes at grade D or above to include English, maths and Science. You will need to show commitment and enthusiasm and to demonstrate a basic ability in written work, and academic references will be requested for confirmation of these attributes. Applications for learners with different entry requirements are invited and will be considered. All applicants will be invited to a formal interview. You will be required to have a DBS check caried out, which will be arranged through the College.
You will study a range of subjects or 'units' of study. These include cultural diversity, nutrition, anatomy and lifespan development.
