Who is this course for?

What are the entry requirements?
You must have work experience in the industry or be employed in the industry. You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.
  • Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2

  • You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
  • Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2

  • You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.


What qualification will I receive?
NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering Services - Heating and Ventilating Installation.

Where can it lead?
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services - Heating and Ventilating Installation.

What will I study?
Core Units

Plan and prepare to install system components.

Install, connect and test the components of the system.

Pre-Commission and De-commission Systems.

Maintain the safe working environment.

Maintain effective working relationships

How will I be taught?
Practical work and technical study.

How will I be assessed?
Whilst you will be assessed on individual tasks and skills throughout the course, you are required to build a 'Portfolio of Evidence' which will include all your practical, attitudinal and theoretical assessments, both from internal projects and external site assessments.
