Course programme
This course gives you the opportunity to address the high-risk / high dependency care of childbearing women.
Topics covered may include:
Hypertensive disorders and haematological variants
Obstetric emergencies
Medical conditions and obstetric complications (e.g. acute fatty liver)
Maternal mental health and patho-social aspects of pregnancy
Post-surgery management and vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC)
This course will involve lectures as well as practice in the clinical Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) or High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Assessment
The assessment is includes a professional discussion (50%) and a written assignment of 3000-3500 (50%) critically evaluating a case you have been involved with.
