Course Summary:
Our Certificate in Education and Training offers you part-qualification in teaching in the FE and Skills sector. You will attend College one evening per week. You will need access to 30 hours or more teaching or training during the course. This qualification is especially suitable for trainer-assessors, those working one-to-one with learners, and those wishing to take a slower route to full qualification.
You will study six modules at Level 4, which provide an excellent toolkit for teaching, learning and assessment. Emphasis is placed on developing your practical teaching skills so that you exit as a confident and able teacher or trainer. You will be observed four times in a developmental capacity over the year by your tutor and will be involved in personal and professional action planning.

Course Content: To be successful in this Level 4 qualification, you will need to achieve a minimum of 36 credits. Mandatory units are: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training; Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training; Delivering education and training; Assessing learners in education and training; Using resources for education and training; Inclusive teaching and learning. How will I be assessed? There is a variety of written academic assignments along with presentations and posters depending on the particular module studied. In addition you will have three observations over the one-year period which you will plan for and evaluate. These are graded to Ofsted criteria. You are expected to finish on a grade 2 (good) or better by the end of the course. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You need to supply stationery only.
