Course programme

The Higher Diploma in Banking will be the right qualification for those seeking more in depth subject matter expertise in particular fields of specialisation, like credit or microfinance/entrepreneurship, sales and marketing, financial markets and management.

Once you finish this qualification, you will be familiar with banking and business law, and understand the banking system as a whole. You will also be able to apply the basic principles of ethics and risk management within the banking sector. In addition, you will be able to operate on a day-to-day basis in selected disciplines such as sales, credit, finance, etc.

CAREERS

The banking sector has evolved into an industry that employs highly skilled individuals. Today, degreed individuals are preferred for many entry level jobs and an undergraduate degree is no longer sufficient to climb the career ladder further. Solid knowledge in advanced banking concepts and how a bank operates as a business are required at a minimum. Apart from this, specialised knowledge of different areas of banking and analytical/research skills are expected from candidates applying for jobs in more senior roles.
