Course Description
The evening AS History course covers the Tudor period and includes key aspects of both English and European History.
The three areas studied are
- Henry VIII: Authority, Nation and Religion, 1509-40
- Luther, Lutheranism and the German Reformation, 1517 55
- The European witchcraze, c1580 1650
Assessment is by source and essay questions with two examinations, one in January and one in May or June. No previous knowledge of the Tudor period is required. The course is open to anyone with an interest in History.
AS Level History is half an A Level. If there is sufficient demand, A2 will be offered as an evening class next year. Alternatively, those wishing to progress could join A2 daytime classes.
Please note this is an examined course and it is a requirement that students attend fully and take the exam at the end of the course.
