About this course
One Higher Grade pass in Drama and/or English, plus two Standard Grade/Intermediate 2 passes or a suitable group of SQA modules. Some applicants may be accepted without formal qualifications. An important part of the selection procedure will be an audition.

Course Aims:
Provides an introduction to the range of skills - acting, production, voice and movement - necessary for progression to the HND or to professional performance training in theatre, television and film. Progression Opportunities:
Students may progress to Year 2 HND Acting & Performance or to a range of drama courses in Scotland at, for example, the Universities of Strathclyde or Glasgow, RSAMD, Queen Margaret University College and University of the West of Scotland or a wide range of relevant courses in England and Wales.
Career Potential:
Most students progress to further training. However, the range of transferable skills, communication, voice skills, team skills and meeting deadlines are useful for careers in public relations, sales and marketing.
Course Assessment:
A range of continuous assessment tools are used including tutor observation and comment, checklists, written assignments and practical exercises. Public performances provide the opportunity to assess all aspects of performance skills.
