ibox course, NC Media Studies & Production or one Higher Grade pass, preferably English, art or media studies, plus two Standard Grade/Intermediate 2 passes or a suitable group of SQA modules in a media programme. Course Aims:
This course provides a sollid foundation in the principles and practices of TV and video production. Through hands-on practice projects you will develop the necessary skills and abilities in a work-related environment. Working in production crews, students will create several programmes during the course.

  • TV Camera Use & Photography
  • Lighting/Lighting Camera,
  • Sound, Sound Theory, Microphones, Recording & Editing, Techniques
  • Editing - Non-linear
  • Script Writing & Layouts & Styles of Script
  • Live, Multi-camera Studio Production as, Director & Six Other Crew Roles
  • Single Camera Recording on, Location in a Crew of Three to Four
  • TV Technology,
  • Designing & Creating Your Own Programmes
Progression Opportunities:
Students may progress to year 2 of the HND if they complete the, three additional units included in the first year course. The HNC is also, used as an access qualification to degree courses in media, film and, television.

Career Potential:
This HNC may offer access to the industry at assistant or trainee level,, especially in production companies and freelance crews.

Course Assessment:
Assessment is of students¿ ability to apply skills of pre-production,, production and post production. There are also several written tests,, short answer, multiple choice, and essays.
