The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Engineering is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who are able to meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving engineering sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.The qualification also aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.This course will aim to provide direct progression in Manufacturing Engineering careers, and has been designed to appeal to students from a variety of backgrounds.This is a two-year part-time course. After successfully completing this programme you will have to opportunity to progress to a Higher National Diploma in /Foundation Degree in Engineering or progress to the second year of a university Degree course. You may choose to go into the workplace using the qualifications you have gained.The programme has been designed to enable engineers to develop the skills necessary to fault find and problem solve in a timely, professional manner, reflecting on their work and contributing to the development of the process and environment they operate within

About this course

You should have the equivalent of 48 UCAS points made up from a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering or GNVQ Advanced level in Engineering or suitable A Levels.Level 2 in English,Level 2 in MathematicsApplicants who have relevant skills and experience but who do not hold the standard minimum entry requirements will be considered. Applicants will be required to evidence appropriate levels of work-related experience and/or vocational qualifications, together with an active interest in the subject area.
