VTCT Theatrical & Media Make-up, S/NVQ Level II/III Hairdressing or SVQ II/III Beauty Therapy. Consideration will also be given to those who have undertaken studies in Fashion and Art. Entry is subject to successful discussion at an information session.

HNC Fashion Make-up

Course Aims:
This course provides you with a wide range of make-up and hairstyling techniques for use within photographic shoots, including basic, bridal, fashion, photographic, catwalk and avante guarde. The programme aims to meet the requirements of the commercial make-up industry including photographic and make-up companies.

Course Content:
Basic Make-up. Fashion & Photographic Make-up. Skin Care. Retail Sales. Customer Care. Advanced Make-up. Hair Styling Suitable for Photographic Shoots.

Progression Opportunities:
On completion, students can progress to HND Make-up Artistry subject to interview. SCQF will allow credits from HNC to contribute to a degree qualification.

Career Potential:
Students who are successful in their studies can look forward to gaining employment within the make-up industry. This may include working as a freelance make-up aritst or working with a fashion make-up company.

Course Assessment:
A combination of theory and/or practical assessment is undertaken, relevant to the subject area. Integration of assessment is included where appropriate. Candidates undertake a final project which reflects the course of study undertaken.
