1 SQA Higher preferably English or a highly literate subject, and 3 Standard Grades, all at Pass standard or above; or 12 NC credits which should contain either Comms 4 or an acceptable literary equivalent, and include at least 8 Computing / IT credits; or In the case of mature students, at least 1 years suitable IT work experience.

If you have an eye for good design layout, catching colours, and meaningful displays which will encourage visitors to return regularly to the sites you have developed, then this one-year course is the one for you. With more and more local and world-wide trade being done on the web, as well as being used as a primary source for information, fun, games and socialising, there is a rapidly growing demand for qualified staff in all companies to create such web sites and maintain their presence and trading ability on the Internet.

COURSE CONTENT

A selection of core units includes:
A range of units as suggested above including Programming for the Web using HTML; JavaScript and Visual Basic; Graphics Units using Dreamweaver; Flash; Photoshop; Visual Studio; Interface Design, and Multimedia Technology. There will also be an exam with questions selected from core units within the programme.
