HNC Management
Aim:
The HNC in Management will give candidates a good level of underpinning knowledge on the main principles and techniques for effective and efficient management. Candidates will learn, develop and apply key management theories and in doing so will also develop a range of management skills. These will assist in their personal and professional needs.

Length of Study:
Up to 3 years distance learning

Entry Requirements:
The programme is suited for individuals who are currently working in a management capacity or are aspiring to the role.

Contents:
There are a range of core and optional units that form the HNC in Management and a total of 12 credits need to be attained to achieve the full award. Core units include:

Management: Developing Self Management Skills
Management: Leadership at Work
Management: Plan, Lead and Implement Change
Manage Operational Resources
Creating a Culture of Customer Care
Managing and Working with People
There is also a graded unit' that must be achieved, this is a management project that you will complete in the later stages of the award.
Study Method:
You will be expected to complete by distance learning using resources including; paper packs, CD rom and on-line web environment.

Assessment:
There is a continual assessment approach to the award and units with a range of assessment instruments including case study, research and management reports. Some unit assessments must be taken under supervised conditions either in college or elsewhere with appropriate invigilation. A detailed course handbook is available on request.
