About this course

One Higher, preferably in Art & Design, plus two Standard Grade/ Intermediate 2 passes, or a suitable group of SQA modules such as NC Art & Design Portfolio. Applicants may be admitted without formal qualifications. All applicants are required to bring samples of their work to interview.

Groups will be given the opportunity to select from additional units such as Web Design and Printmaking.

Progression Opportunities:
Successful students may progress to HND Visual Communication, Art School or to degree programmes such as BA Digital Art at the University of the West of Scotland, BA Applied Graphics Technology at Glasgow Caledonian University, BA Visual Communication & Media Design at University of Abertay and BA Graphic Design at the University of Cumbria.

Career Potential:
Opportunities exist within design consultancies, advertising agencies, print companies, publishers, newspaper industry, marketing, public relations, television, web and multimedia.

Course Assessment:
Continuous assessment, through mainly project-based work, while some units have written assignments.
