Course Description
These courses serve as a good introduction to the world of business. The skills of people working or planning to work in modern business organisations need to be many and varied. This scheme provides an overview of the organisational process and the role of the individual in the development and success of organisations. Learners will improve their employability and professional development by studying the following:
Management and Organisational Behaviour
Information Management
Marketing
Finance
Economics
Business Strategy
Management Information Systems
Accounting
Human Resource Management
Learners may opt to follow routes in Marketing, Human Resource Management and Accounting, if there is sufficient interest.
Foundation Degree
This is an opportunity for learners to convert their HND to a Foundation Degree by completing work-based modules which combine theory and practice. This can be completed before or after learners commence their career.
Honours Degree
The third year of this full-time programme is taught at the University of Glamorgan. Subject to validation from Sept. 2008, a BA (Hons) in Management and Business will be offered on a part-time basis over 2 years.

Career Prospects
The HND can lead to entry onto a one-year Honours Degree programme at the University of Glamorgan and may provide exemption from certain professional qualifications. It can also be topped-up to a Foundation Degree with the completion of work placement, leading to an Employment Experience Certificate. The HND scheme is recognised throughout the European Union as a demonstration of suitability for employment. Two-thirds of all employment is in the Management and Business sector.
