Course Aims:
This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the performing and session sector of the contemporary music industry. Emphasis is on instrumental tuition on drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals, both solo and working within groups, alongside composition and recording techniques. Other first instrument studies may be considered subject to numbers.

Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion allows progression to degree courses in music throughout the UK. Entry points will depend on particular courses and will be subject to auditions.

Career Potential:
Students will have the relevant key skills to enter the music and related industries. Crucial to students' success willwill be passion and determination to succeed. Former students are finding careers as session musicians, recording artists, instrumental instructors, songwriters, performers, promoters and lecturers.

Course Assessment:
Assessment is on a continous basis where each module is broken down into seperate performance criteria. The main emphasis of the course is on practical assesment, however certain modules are project/research based and are assessed through submited written work. Assessment will include a mandatory Group Award Graded Unit.
