NC Rock & Pop Music or equivalent, or two Higher Grade passes, one of which should be Music. An audition on one of the instruments from the above list and an interview will form an important part of the selection procedure.

Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion allows progression to degree courses in music throughout the UK. Entry points will depend on particular courses and will be subject to auditions.

Career Potential:
Students will have the relevant key skills to enter the music and related industries. Crucial to students' success willwill be passion and determination to succeed. Former students are finding careers as session musicians, recording artists, instrumental instructors, songwriters, performers, promoters and lecturers.

Course Assessment:
Assessment is on a continous basis where each module is broken down into seperate performance criteria. The main emphasis of the course is on practical assesment, however certain modules are project/research based and are assessed through submited written work. Assessment will include a mandatory Group Award Graded Unit.
