About this course

NC Sound Production / Dance Music Production / Urban/Electronic Music Production or two Highers in relevant subjects, preferably English. Alternatively, a group of appropriate NC modules, an ONC or OND in an appropriate subject or a City & Guilds Technician qualification in an appropriate subject. Some applicants may be admitted without formal qualifications.

Progression Opportunities:
Depending on the options chosen, successful students may progress onto year 3 of BSc Audio Technology with Multimedia at Glasgow Caledonian University , or year 3 of the BSc Music Technology or BA Commercial Music at the University of the West of Scotland.

Career Potential:
Students completing the HND have the relevant skills to enter the music and audio industries. Opportunities exsist as live PA engineers, sound engineers, production editors, sound designers, producers, sound editors, broadcast and computer audio specialists.

Course Assessment:
Assessment is on a continous basis where each module is broken down into seperate performance criteria. The main emphasis of the course is on a practical basis however certain modules are project/research based and are assessed through submitted written work. Assessment will include a mandatory Group Award Graded Unit.
