This course offers a wonderful opportunity to explore and develop a wide range of equine subjects. The course offers a wide range of activities, practical tasks and guest speakers.The enrichment, along with the variety of units, helps to prepare you for employment within the equine industry and progression onto level 3 courses. You'll also be offered guidance to train and take BHS exams, as we are an approved 'where to train' and exam centre.

How will I study?
This course is made up of a number of different units including: Work experience Undertaking routine stable duties Horse handling Horse grooming trimming and plaiting Principles of horse biology and animal health If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main course, enterprise and enrichment activities, English and maths as well as work experience.
How will I be taught?
There are a huge range of teaching methods used on this course. Riding our lovely horses is timetabled once a week for each group and practical yard sessions will include routine duties as part of your work experience studies. Weekend duty sessions prepare you for full time work in the industry.
How will I be assessed?
Through practical tasks on the equine yard and written assignments, including posters and information leaflets.
