Horticulture covers a wide variety of careers ranging from the design and maintenance of parks, gardens and landscapes, to the production of edible crops and plants for nurseries and garden centres. This two year course aims to give a broad introduction to the horticulture industry, enabling students to experience a range of topics and career opportunities. The course accommodates the needs of both the experienced horticulturist and those new to the discipline. You will be introduced to the scientific, technological and managerial principles upon which modern horticulture is founded. The course includes a compulsory period of work placement, enabling you to apply theoretical principles to a work-place situation and ensuring you are well placed to move into industry upon graduation.
The course is taught at Pershore College, a national centre of excellence for horticulture, utilising its extensive range of gardens, resources and other facilities.
