What's it all about?:
Do you like the challenge of creating sumptuous dishes for a wedding banquet? Or are you keen to oversee the arrangements for an important business conference? Whether you are looking to stretch your professional cookery talents or flex your managerial muscles our aim is to help you work towards your professional development. Your experiences at work will inform your studies and we can help you develop those relevant skills and training to match the role demanded of you.

Entry Requirements:
Usually progression is from a level 2 Apprenticeship or substantial experience in the industry. You will be assessed at the College's Work-based Learning Department.

Duration: Two years

Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

Each Apprentice works towards a NVQ level 3 in their vocational discipline. Choices include:
• professional cookery
• hospitality supervision.

You will also work towards:

• key skills: application on number level 2 and communitcation at level 2
• Employers Right and Responsibilites.

When can I study?:
Wednesdays, 9.00am - 4.30pm

Are there any exams?:
A combination of direct observation of performance in the workplace and College realistic working environment area, together with a portfolio of evidence for NVQ and Key Skills. NVQ 3 unit end test are conducted, key skills will be externally examined.
