During our Hot Stone Massage Diploma course, participants will learn how to apply a full body hot stone massage in a safe and effective way. Participants will learn how hot basalt stones can be a useful tool either in a remedial massage or in a more straightforwardly relaxing massage.

Basalt Lava stones, heated in hot water, warm the client’s muscles, allowing a much deeper working of the tissues than a conventional massage. Stones are selected to correspond to specific parts of the body, oil is spread onto the client and the stone is then worked along the skin, in place of the therapist’s hand.

Hot stone therapy is a versatile and extremely popular therapy in its own right, but can also be incorporated into many other treatments including Lomilomi, holistic and sport massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, deep tissue massage, Indian head massage and many others.
