We will look at the perilous world of the home throughout the ages. In our current society we may complain about the strict legislation concerning health and safety and deem some of it to be unnecessary but imagine living in a world where all vestiges of health and safety have been removed, where you are lucky if you survived from day to day or are forced to partake in new inventions that are both untried and untested and extremely dangerous. In this course we will examine changes from Roman times onwards and compare the home in which we live to the homes of yesteryear. A fascinating glimpse into life (or death) behind our four walls.
