HPUX System Administration - Part 1

AUDIENCE: Those who need to expand their basic knowledge of HP-UX to enable them to successfully administer activities to be undertaken within the HP-UX environment.
PREREQUISITES: Delegates should have a basic understanding of UNIX and ideally some experience in the workplace. Attendance at our UNIX The Essentials course is recommended. Knowledge of a standard UNIX editor (e.g. vi) is required
DURATION: 3 days. Hands on.
OBJECTIVES: This course will allow delegates to understand the roles of a system administrator and use the:
· SAM tool
· Manage user and group issues
· Implement secure policies under HP-UX
· Manage all aspects of printer administration.

The course also covers everything you need to know about:
· disks on an HP-UX system:
· How to use LVM to partition disks
· How to tell if a system is healthy
· How to resize filesystems that are too full
· How to fix broken filesystems
· How to recover in the event of a total failure.
