Overview The HSE First Aid at Work course allows for a thorough analysis of emergency situations involving adults, children and babies. Participants are given ample opportunity to practise the wide range of skills taught. This programme also covers a significant amount of theory. The HSE First Aid at Work course is suitable for nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone wanting a comprehensive introduction to first aid. The course will give the knowledge and confidence to deal with a first aid emergency in the workplace. Course Objectives
The HSE First Aid at Work course Covers:-
- Accidents and illness
- Using a first aid kit
- Simple record keeping and litigation
- Infection control
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Heart attacks
- Resuscitation
- Shock
- Bleeding
- Scalds
- Poisoning
- Fractures
- Eye Injury
Additional Information After completing final assessments, successful candidates will receive a HSE approved certificate valid for three years.
This course is legally compliant with the current health and safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this four day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary.
