Course programme

A knowledge and understanding of managing people is important for anyone planning a career in management, and especially for those wanting to work as a human resource professional. Human Resource Management (HRM) can be studied as a single honours option or in combination with Business, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Psychology or Tourism. The benefits of studying HRM at Canterbury Christ Church University include the opportunity to work on real business issues/case studies and develop knowledge and skills in a broad range of business subjects which impact directly on business performance and competitiveness. The academic team delivering the programme have all worked as practitioners, hold membership of the professional body for HR specialists, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and bring a wealth of experience to student learning. As well as teaching, the team are also actively involved in research, knowledge exchange and cross-cultural teaching at institutions in other parts of Europe. The Business School is a CIPD Approved Centre, delivering the post experience Advanced Diploma in HRM; studying HRM at undergraduate level provides students with a good foundation for their future professional studies and can open up opportunities to network with local employers.
