About this course

This course focuses on the social factors which affect human rights, examining human behaviour, relationships and society. This course is taught in collaboration with Kingston University's new Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice Practice. You will engage with current issues as a researcher, activist, campaigner and blogger, under the supervision of human rights and social justice specialists at the centre.

The course has flexible modules so you can study a combination of politics, sociology, criminology and history to suit your own areas of interests. You will develop comprehensive skills in research, numeracy, data collection and analysis, teamwork and communication.
Kingston's proximity to central London enables you to participate in lectures, workshops, talks and political events in the capital and expand your knowledge beyond the classroom.

The course will benefit from the expertise of the newly established Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice Practice at Kingston University.
On this course you will develop knowledge and skills for a career in human rights, and a foundation in a classical and contemporary social theory.
The course enhances your employability with an approach to learning that emphasises practical tools and skills, and a work placement option through a sandwich year and/or applied research project.
You will be assigned a personal tutor - a member of academic staff who will support your progress at Kingston University. Your tutor will provide academic guidance and help you make the best of the resources and support services offered at Kingston University.
Our integrated study skills programme helps you develop core skills such as researching, essay writing and presenting to support your studies.
The Kingston Language Scheme offers you the chance to learn a language for free. Options include: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
