This is achieved through the completion of graduate courses in the student's major area of interest as well as in related areas. Students in this program may not apply concurrently for entrance to the Ph.D. program.Students must complete a minimum of 45 graduate-level units, 36 of which must be taken at Stanford. All 45 units must have a letter grade of B or above. Students enrolled in the terminal M.A. program must file a Program Proposal for a Master's Degree during their first quarter of enrollment. Any changes to the proposal should be reviewed and approved by the Chair of Graduate Studies.
