The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test for students who need to demonstrate English language proficiency for study, work or immigration entry to English-speaking countries. IELTS is designed to assess the language capabilities of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. It covers the four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.

About this course

By the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. recognize their level in speaking, reading, listening and
writing English
2. recognize and overcome challenges presented in the IELTS
3. write different academic essay types
4. evaluate and self correct their speaking
5. be prepared for the mechanics of the IELTS examination (time,
order, format)
6. skim, scan and focus on target material in academic reading
passages
7. interpret and describe statistical data using appropriate language and grammar
8. demonstrate enhanced vocabulary in writing and speaking
9. formulate, express and defend opinions using appropriate
vocabulary
10. demonstrate improved listening skills for comprehension and
details

Professionals and academic careers in English speaking countries/r Immigration purposes (settlement) etc.

Intermediate English. All students undertake a diagnostic computersied objective test (1-45 minute) paper written in English to determine entrance to the course. Students not meeting the expectations are sign-posted to alternative courses routes etc..

None - A request for a ***certificate of attendance may be made which attracts a small fee of £35.00 plus postage costs.(***please note certificate of attendance is not an academic qualification)

Fully flexible - students may attend 2x2 hours weekly - Wednesday & Friday. CBC has been running this course for over 14 years with an average score of 7+.

Pastoral Care: All students undertake 1 hour of Personal tuition Monthly

Details of our IELTS Programme is sent to all students upon inquiry.

All student undertake a mock IELTS Test 1.45hrs to determine standard of English of which a fee of £25.00 is payable. A report is then compiled and sent to the student/ learner.

Upon enrollment FULL course booklet provided in each of the topic area speaking, listening, reading and writing along with programme/ course lesson plan and IELTS guide.

The IELTSx course aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to successfully prepare to take the IELTS Academic/ General Test. IELTS, which stands for International English Language Testing System, is a globally recognised test of English language proficiency. It is a popular choice for students/ learners wishing to satisfy access to a number of professional bodies where English proficiency is a requirement, route to further and higher education or for matters of immigration for entry purposes to English-speaking countries.

This course will prepare you to take the IELTS Academic/ General Test with a degree of confidence. The course also teaches methods of exam techniques via regularized practice tests to assess your progress and time management. All in all the IELTS preparation programme takes a holistic view of the English language facilitated by experienced IELTS tutors coupled with interactive media learner facilities.

As the course is self-paced, you can complete all of the course units in sequence, or only select the areas you want to focus on to prepare for the IELTS Academic/ General test (s). Then, when you are confident, you will undergo regularized testing in preparation for the test. In undertaking this course, you should feel more prepared to take the IELTS Academic/ General test.
