Course programme
IELTS Intensive
This is a two-day or weekend intensive course designed to prepare you for your IELTS exam day.
Working with two or three teachers, you will get a concentrated programme of English studying and conversation, working through past exam paper and role-playing mock exams.
IELTS Intensive 121 is - as the name suggests - a 1-to-1 course, where you will be working on an individual basis with your teachers, and we design the course so that you get the maximum benefit.
An Individual Course
We start by discussing your targets and goals, both professionally and with the IELTS exams.
Then we use diagnostic tests to identify your strengths and weaknesses: in all areas - speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Using this information we design your very own tailor-made IELTS programme. We have done this for a lot of students and we know that this approach works well and that our students go on to get the results they want and deserve.
Typical Lesson
A typical lesson would include might start with some work on pronunciation and speaking - getting your tongue and ear tuned-in to working in English.
We might then move on to working with a vocabulary extension exercise or work on idiomatic English to widen your knowledge of the unusual and difficult phrases which so often cause problems for overseas learners of English.
We might well be working from one of our suite of IELTS books, so will usually go over the unit from the book that you have prepared for homework - discussing any difficulties you have had or areas of weakness that need clarifying.
Depending on the length of the lesson, we might close with a dicussion of a piece of topical journalism from a range of papers, or work on an apsect of grammar which we have agreed earlier.
Course Materials
We would use the the Focus on IELTS series of books, complemented by the Cambridge Grammar for IELTS and the IELTS Practice Tests series.
We use our own materials folders for work on pronunciation, comprehension and basic grammar teaching.
You will be informed of which books you should buy when you sign-up for the course.
Opening Doors
IELTS opens so many doors for a student or professional wanting to succeed. IELTS Intensive 121 is simply the most efficient and effective way to prepare for your IELTS exam.
