This course will help you to:
- Read in a critical way, recognising and appreciating the themes that writers use.
- Develop your own writing skills so that you can convey meaning in different contexts and styles.

You will study 20 texts from the provided Anthology and these will have a variety of styles and are designed to help prepare you for the exam.

Course programme

The course you will be following is called "Edexcel International GCSE in English Language, Specification A, 4EA0". You will be completing Route One which is assessed completely through examination.

Throughout the course you will study texts from the Edexcel iGCSE Anthology, and you will be asked to write about some of these texts in your exam.

There are two written exams and these will be held in May/June or you may be able to take these in January.

  • Paper 1 is worth 70% of your qualification
  • Paper 2 is worth 30% of your qualification

Additional information

This course is suitable for you if you need to achieve a GCSE English, at a grade C or above, for either work or in order to undertake further study.
