Course programme

The ILM Level 2 Award in Introduction to Business Improvement aims to give practising team leaders a solid foundation for their formal development, and in particular to gain basic knowledge of business improvement techniques and business improvement skills. The qualification is made up of seven mandatory units. In the first unit, Business improvement techniques’, candidates look at the importance of quality and continuous improvement in an organisation with which they are familiar with. They also identify an area for improvement and suggest a method for improving the product, service or process identified including a cost benefit analysis. The remaining six mandatory units aim to develop a wide variety of related team leading skills including effective team working, health and safety in the workplace, satisfying customer requirements and methods of communicating in the workplace.
