Course Aims:
The Level 3 Diploma is designed to complete the underpinning knowledge skills at technician level required as part of the Modern Apprenticeship. Course Content:
Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping. Ensure You Own Actions Reduce Risks to Health & Safety. Maintain Positive Working Relationships. Diagnose & Rectify Light Vehicle Engine & Component Faults. Diagnose & Rectify Light Vehicle Chassis System Faults. Diagnose & Rectify Auxiliary Equipment Electrical Faults. , , Optional Units:, Enable Learning Through Demonstrations & Instruction. Inspect Vehicles. Identify & Agree Customer Vehicle Needs. Overhaul Mechanical Units. Diagnose & Rectify Light Vehicle Trans & Driveline System Faults.

Progression Opportunities:
On completion, candidates may progress onto further study in the HNC/D Automotive Engineering.

Career Potential:
Opportunities exist as an automotive mechanics. The IMI Diploma is also a component of the Modern Apprenticeship in Automotive Engineering. The other component required for the Modern Apprenticeship is the SVQ II/III in Automotive Engineering.

Course Assessment:
Progress through this course is monitored through online testing and continuous assessment.
