The Institute of Management Information Systems (IMIS) is the leading professional association in the Information Systems management sector. What are the Entry requirements?

• Full completion of the Diploma level examinations
• BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Computing
• BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in a Computing
• 21 years of age with 4 years’ IT/IS work experience
• Other qualifications acceptable to the IMIS

When can I commence study?

• Full-time: September, January and June each year
• Part-time: September, January and June each year
• Distance Learning: Not Applicable

What will I study?

Compulsory Modules
• H13 - Systems Analysis and Design
• H14 - Application Development
• H15 - Networking
• H16 - Software Engineering
• H17 - Management of Information Systems
• H18 - Business Information Technology

Any particular sequence/combination?

• No

Any Exemptions? Yes, subject to the following condition:
• Holders of certain qualifications acceptable to the IMIS for exemptions
• Exemptions apply to all levels except the Graduate Level
How is the course assessed? • By external examination administered by the IMIS
• Module FO 4 is examined by a Devolved/Internal Assessment

Any deadlines I should know about?

Yes, you MUST register and enter for the IMIS Exams by:
• 1st October for the December Examination
• 1st April for the June Examination

What next after the course?

• Advance to IMIS Graduate Diploma in Management Information System
• Proceed to University or College Education (exemptions may apply)
• Take up employment at senior level within Information Management/IT

Can I combine this with another course?

• Yes, Strategic Management and Leadership related courses will be useful.
