Course programme
Indian Head Massage is one of the most popular & accessible therapies available today. A treatment involves energy balancing as well as massage of the upper body : back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp, and the face. Indian Head Massage is unique in that it is short, convenient accessible & effective - the ideal mobile treatment - there is no need for clients to remove clothing and the use of oils (at the end of the treatment) is optional.
A professional Indian Head Massage treatment can have a profound effect on the body & emotions. It can be used to relieve conditons such as headaches, hair loss, dandruff, muscular tension in the upper body & sinus problems. It can also help to lift depression, promote restful sleep & relieve stress.
Syllabus includes:
PRACTICAL work including the following techniques: effleurage, friction, kneading, petrissage, percussion, compression, pressure points.
New massage skills are taught on each of the three days, plus time to refine & reinforce techniques.
THEORY includes, history, contraindications, benefits, headaches, stress, client consultation, chakra energies, study of relevant anatomy. hair care & use of oils.
EXAM & CASE STUDIES: following the course, studens are required to complete 5 case studies & a practical & written exam (multiple choice).
The course is recognised by the CThA/Embody (a branch of ITEC) & the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) & is valid for 20 CPD points.
