INDIAN WOODBLOCK PRINTING – SATURDAY WORKSHOP

Spend a fun and absorbing day in our well- equipped specialist Printroom learning the traditional technique of Indian Wood Block Printing.

This immersive and highly practical 1-day workshop can be enjoyed by those with no previous experience, and in just one session you will be able to produce quick, pleasing and unique print designs.

Guided by your tutor, you will begin the day by carefully carving the printing block from a range of designs provided. You will then be guided on how to create your own unique design. Through demonstrations by your tutor, you will learn basic repeat patterns and by the end of the day, you will have produced your own prints to take home with you.

Your tutor, Preeti Sood was born in Delhi and trained in Printmaking at Chandigarh College of Arts and Santiniketan, Kala Bhavan. She later completed her second MA degree in printmaking at Camberwell College of Art, University of the Arts London. Upon graduating she taught at the British School in New Delhi, India and practised as an artist in Garhi Studios, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. She has completed three solo shows internationally and has been selected as an artist in various printmaking shows in London, Delhi, Bangalore and Japan.
