The Master’s degree program “Industrial Engineering – Technical Chemistry” (WITECH) is an extension of the Bachelor’s degree program in Technical Chemistry, providing academic, hands-on business education for chemists who have a keen interest in engineering and natural sciences. The program conveys broad expert knowledge on an advanced academic level in various areas of chemistry, chemical technologies, process engineering and management, including in-depth studies in engineering and business education. A high number of internships and programs ensure that students can apply learned academic theories to real-world problems. The program has been designed to prepare students to qualify for demanding jobs in research, development and company management where chemically relevant academic knowledge and business methods in management are required.

About this course

The Master’s degree program “Industrial Engineering – Technical Chemistry” is an extension of the Bachelor’s degree program in Technical Chemistry at the interface between engineering and chemistry and designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of process engineering. Students have the opportunity to specialize in selected areas of chemistry, supplemented by active involvement in research projects that can also be part of a Master’s thesis. In addition to applying an acquired skill set to develop and improve chemical syntheses and processes, graduates will also have the ability to critically assess how new technologies will impact society and the environment. Students not only take in-depth engineering courses, but also advanced business education courses focusing on management, marketing, and finance. Graduates can hone their skills in both chemistry and business and meet the high demand in today’s job market for positions requiring an academic background in both engineering and business.

BA Chemistry (JKU, previously BA Technical Chemistry) or an undergraduate degree program equivalent in content and scope.
