When waiting for the public transport, probably none of us has ever thought about a person who had developed and implemented the idea of a bus stop that gives us shelter on a rainy day. And most probably only few of us have ever thought about the creator of a bench or even a dust bin that make our stay in a public park more comfortable on a warm, sunny day. A skating-rink, a swing at any playground, as well as many other ordinary items may not only have an attractive appearance, but also carry certain educational functions. All of the above are only a few examples of an industrial products designer's work results.

The Industrial Product Design study programme is aimed at preparing specialists capable of developing aesthetic, economical and ergonomic industrial productions. Design is generally seen as the result of artistic activity. However, industrial product design studies expand one's horizons and formulate a certain policy for the assessment of the object's appearance and suitability for the society in general or its individual groups, the product's advancement, utility, environmental friendliness, or even its capability to add to the economic growth of the country.

Although the concept of design has long been associated more with the aesthetics rather than the search of solutions, the newest trend puts design on a different level, emphasizing its practical and functional aspects that add value to the consumer.

Industrial product design is one of the most versatile specialities that may be applicable in various fields. It enables you to create items for individual groups in society, e.g. for people suffering from cerebral paralysis. Industrial products designers can create aesthetic and functional devices to help such people move or can create flatware that cushions shaking hand movements.
