This course has been developed in line with National Guidance from the Health Protection Agency (2005) it aims to provide an opportunity for clinicians' to increase their underpinning knowledge and awareness on current immunisation best practice by:
Raising the profile of immunisation, to prevent disease outbreak and ultimately eradicate disease.
To competently be able to immunise against influenza and Pneumococcal disease and have the capacity to transmit evidence based knowledge and practice to others.
To develop from novice to expert within their scope of competence.

About this course
Health Care Assistants working within General Practice whose role involves the
delivery of Influenza & Pneumococcal vaccinations to adults.
Health Care Assistants MUST have an NVQ level 3 or be working towards it and have
at least 2 years experience within the Health Care Assistant role working within
General Practice. Health Care Assistants MUST also have previously attended an
initial immunisation 2 day training course or equivalent.
Please note that this course does contain a Theoretical & Practical Assessment
