Course programme
The course is designed to help you develop a range of skills, personal qualities and attitudes for successful performance in a range of IT roles.
You will study seven units: Communicating in the IT Industry; Working in the IT Industry; Computer Systems; Spreadsheet Modelling; Multimedia Design; Presenting Information; and Animation Techniques.
- You'll need four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and Maths.
- Alternatively you'll need a BTEC Introductory Diploma with Merit or above, including Functional Skills at Level 1.
- Relevant employment experience will also be considered.
- You'll also have your communication skills assessed at a formal interview prior to full enrolment.
Assessment is largely by coursework. You will undertake several problem-solving assessments that closely match challenges found in the workplace.
Complete the course with a Merit profile or above and you can progress to a full National Diploma in IT. This course will also open the door to working in an IT-based office environment.
